About the board & their dogs
Van FleisherYogi is my “Bestie!” From his first belly-rub in
the morning ‘til his last one at night, he lets me know he loves me and I hope he knows I feel the same about him. |
Lorraine McIntireI enjoy taking my 10-year-old miniature Dachshund (Brownie) everywhere I go. Brownie is also a celebrity in town, having his picture proudly posted on Linden Trail at the entrance to State Park (please grab a bag as you pass by). We look forward to seeing you in town or at the park!

Karen SketchI am a semi-retired graphic artist who is looking to give back to the community in a way that I am most passionate about. I visit El Carro regularly with my Covid pup, Bodhi, who has grown up to be both people and dog-friendly because of the socialization skills he learned early on there. I am most grateful for all the wonderful people I have met in the last couple of years at El Carro.

Hal PriceDuring the early days of Covid-19 I was drawn to a small dog rescue shop in Goleta, CA, called, “The Little Dog House”. It was here where I met a little 5-month old Malti-Terri-Pooh who would forever change my life. This little Covid-19 pup instantly won my heart and I named him “Rescue Reilly”. He inspired me to make many changes in my life including walking the beach more often, becoming a nature photographer, and writing an international bestselling dog book in 2020 called, “The UltiMUTT Book for Dog Lovers”.

Huck is my first fur baby and very much my soul pup! We are inseparable and enjoy walking the bluffs, running on the beach, and play time with our four-legged friends at El Carro off-leash area.

I was so excited to adopt my first puppy, Bailey, in December of 2020. I've been taking her to El Carro almost every day since the beginning of 2021. She was very timid when I first rescued her, but she is now playful and confident thanks to the socialization she’s gotten at the park. We love hanging with all our human and doggy friends at El Carro everyday.

Mallow and Mochi, aka “M&M”, were both rescued from an illegal breeding farm, where Mallow was severely mistreated for the first 5 years of her life. After five years of freedom, they now live a happy California life, where they love socializing around Linden Avenue, beach board walk, parks, and of course, outdoor dining areas. They’re also a great alarm clock to get me out of my home office! If you see us around town, come say hi!

Angel and I love our bike rides together around Carpinteria, with the fresh ocean air, warm gentle breezes and beautiful landscapes! No place like home!
